Booking terms

What you agree to when you book with us, in plain words. The undercoating service agreement is at the end.

Version 2026-09-20 · Updated September 20, 2026

1. These terms

These terms apply to appointments with Auto Care Planet ("we", "us"), at 280 Business Park Circle, Unit 13, Stoughton, WI, 53589, whether you book on this website, by phone, or at the counter. By checking the box at the end of an online booking, or by handing us your keys, you agree to them.

Some services carry their own agreement as well, printed in full further down this page: detailing, engine bay cleaning, and FLUID FILM® & WOOLWAX® undercoating. Each one applies to the service it names and forms part of these terms when you book that service.

2. Your booking

A booking reserves a bay and a member of our team for the service and time you chose. The price, how long the vehicle is with us, and what the service includes are the ones shown when you book.

If you pay online, your booking is confirmed the moment the payment goes through, and we email you a confirmation with a reference number. If you book without paying online, the time is held for you and we will be in touch if anything about it needs to change.

Occasionally we have to decline or move a booking — if the vehicle turns out not to be suitable for the service, or if we cannot open on the day. If that happens we tell you as soon as we can, and anything you have paid is refunded in full.

3. Prices and what is included

Most of our prices are fixed and shown before you book. Wisconsin state and county sales tax is added and shown as its own line before you pay.

A few services cannot be priced until we have seen the vehicle. Those are marked that way on the site and carry no price when you book, and nothing is charged at booking. We inspect, tell you the figure, and begin work only once you have agreed to it.

Each service includes what its description lists. If, when we see the vehicle, we think it needs more — heavy soiling, pet hair, mold, or a condition that calls for a different treatment — we tell you what it would cost and do it only with your say-so. We never add a charge you have not agreed to.

4. Paying

Online payments are taken by Stripe on a secure checkout page. Your card details go to Stripe and are never stored on our systems. You can pay the full amount or a deposit — the percentage is shown when you book. A deposit is applied to your bill, and the balance is due when you collect the vehicle.

Anything not paid online is settled at the shop when you collect the vehicle. We email a receipt for every online payment.

Refunds go back to the card you paid with. They usually show within five to ten business days, depending on your bank.

5. Cancelling or rescheduling

You can cancel or reschedule free of charge up to 24 hours before your appointment — call (608) 354-6608 or email detail@autocareplanet.com. Anything you have paid is refunded in full or moved to the new time, whichever you prefer.

Inside 24 hours, or if the vehicle does not arrive, the bay we kept for you has usually gone unused. We may keep your deposit — or, if you paid in full, an amount up to the deposit — to cover it, and refund the rest. We always try to fill the time first, and if we do, we refund everything.

If nothing has been paid yet — on a service we price after seeing the vehicle, for instance — there is nothing for us to keep, and we will not invoice you for the slot. We would still rather know, so the time can go to somebody else.

6. Drop-off and collection

  • Please arrive at your booked time with the keys. If you are running late, call us: a late arrival may mean we have to shorten the service or move it to another time.
  • Take personal items and valuables out before you drop off. We are not responsible for items left in the vehicle, and loose items slow the work down.
  • The vehicle needs to be drivable and carry nothing hazardous. Tell us about anything unusual — a warning light, a leak, a door that sticks.
  • Child seats are removed and refitted only if you ask us to. A seat's fitting is a safety matter, so please check it yourself before you drive away.
  • We aim to have the vehicle ready around the time shown at booking. Please collect it during our opening hours on the day; if you cannot, tell us and we will agree what happens with the keys and the vehicle. A vehicle left with us for more than two days without an arrangement may be charged a daily storage fee.

7. The condition of your vehicle

Before any work begins we inspect the vehicle and photograph it. Anything we find — existing scratches, chips, dents, worn or peeling coatings, damaged trim, stains, odors, corrosion — is documented and shown to you for review, and where it affects the work, for your authorization before we start.

Detailing improves a vehicle; it cannot make it new. Some conditions cannot be fully corrected — deep scratches, etched or failing paint, permanent staining, embedded odors, cracked or perished rubber and plastics — and some materials react to cleaning that is otherwise routine: aged plastics, aftermarket tint, worn clear coat, loose trim, and badly fitted accessories. We tell you what we can and cannot do before we begin.

We are not responsible for conditions that existed before the work, for normal wear, or for mechanical or electrical faults that we did not cause.

8. Photographs and your record

The photographs we take when your vehicle arrives and when it goes back are your record as much as ours. We keep them with your booking and email them to you. We do not publish photographs that identify you or your vehicle — a license plate, for instance — without asking you first.

9. Our responsibility

We look after every vehicle as if it were our own. If we damage your vehicle through our negligence, we repair it or cover the reasonable cost of the repair.

We are not liable for conditions that existed before the work, normal wear, faults we did not cause, items left in the vehicle, delays caused by things outside our control, or indirect losses such as lost time, a hire car, or loss of use.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under Wisconsin law, or waives any right you have as a consumer that cannot legally be waived.

10. FLUID FILM® and WOOLWAX® undercoating

Our corrosion-protection services apply FLUID FILM®, FLUID FILM BLACK®, or WOOLWAX®, which are soft, non-drying, lanolin-based rust inhibitors. The shop applies FLUID FILM BLACK® or WOOLWAX® to the exposed undercarriage, frame, and suspension for heavy-duty protection, and FLUID FILM® untinted original formula inside doors, rockers, and boxed frame cavities. It is an annual treatment designed to reduce corrosion caused by moisture and road salt. It is not rust removal or repair, and no treatment can promise that a vehicle will never rust.

When you book an undercoating service you are asked to read and authorize the service agreement below, which sets out what is treated, what the product does and does not do, and what to look out for afterwards. For those services, that agreement forms part of these terms.

FLUID FILM® and FLUID FILM BLACK® are registered trademarks of Eureka Chemical Company. WOOLWAX® is a registered trademark of Kellsport Products Inc. We are an independent applicator and are not affiliated with or endorsed by Eureka Chemical Company or Kellsport Products Inc.

11. How we contact you

We use the phone number and email address you give us to confirm your booking, send your receipt and your vehicle record, and reach you about the appointment — by phone, text message, or email, whichever gets to you fastest. We do not send marketing unless you ask for it.

12. Your information

How we look after your details, what we keep, and who processes it for us is set out in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

13. The legal part

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin. If any part of them turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.

We may update these terms from time to time. Each version carries a date, and the version you agreed to is recorded against your booking: the terms that apply to a booking are the ones in force when you made it.

Interior and exterior vehicle detailing service agreement

Version 2026-09-17. Shown to every customer booking a detailing service — full details, interior-only details, headlight restoration and mold treatment.

Vehicle condition and pre-service inspection
I understand that the vehicle may be inspected and its visible condition documented before detailing begins. Pre-existing conditions may include, but are not limited to, scratches, dents, chips, cracks, oxidation, clear-coat failure, corrosion, stains, odors, discoloration, worn or damaged upholstery, loose trim, damaged plastics, deteriorated rubber, damaged wheels, previous repairs, aftermarket accessories, and malfunctioning components. The detailing service does not constitute a mechanical, electrical, structural, body, paint, safety, or comprehensive vehicle inspection.
Interior detailing
I understand that interior detailing involves cleaning products, moisture, agitation, vacuuming, extraction, steam, compressed air, brushes, and/or other professional detailing methods as appropriate. Some stains, odors, discoloration, pet hair, embedded contamination, biological residue, adhesive residue, dye transfer, and other defects may be permanent or may not be completely removable. Cleaning may reveal pre-existing stains, fading, deterioration, repairs, damage, or discoloration that was previously concealed by dirt or contamination.
Interior materials and electronics
Older, worn, previously repaired, improperly dyed, sun-damaged, or deteriorated materials may react unpredictably to normal professional cleaning. This may include leather, vinyl, plastics, fabric, headliners, carpets, trim, switches, screens, coatings, and adhesives. Extra caution will be exercised around electronic components; however, the customer should disclose any known malfunctioning, damaged, modified, or moisture-sensitive electronics before service.
Exterior detailing
I understand that exterior detailing is intended to clean and improve the appearance of the vehicle but does not repair existing paint, body, glass, wheel, trim, corrosion, or structural damage unless a specific corrective service is separately authorized. Washing, decontamination, and cleaning may reveal pre-existing scratches, swirl marks, stone chips, oxidation, water spotting, corrosion, paint defects, clear-coat failure, previous body repairs, touch-up paint, overspray, wheel damage, or other imperfections previously concealed by dirt or contamination.
What an exterior detail does not include
A standard exterior detail does not guarantee the removal of scratches, water spots, oxidation, etching, overspray, road paint, tar, sap, mineral deposits, or other bonded contaminants. Paint correction, polishing, sanding, touch-up, ceramic coatings, or other corrective or protective procedures are not included unless specifically listed and authorized on the work order.
Aged, damaged and aftermarket components
I understand that pre-existing deterioration can cause components to loosen, crack, peel, separate, discolor, or fail during otherwise reasonable detailing procedures. This may include aged or damaged paint, clear coat, decals, vinyl wraps, paint-protection film (PPF), window tint, emblems, badges, pinstripes, weatherstripping, moldings, trim, adhesives, upholstery, headliners, plastics, aftermarket accessories, and previously repaired or refinished surfaces. I agree to disclose known fragile, damaged, recently repaired, repainted, wrapped, coated, or aftermarket components before service.
Personal property
I am responsible for removing cash, jewelry, electronics, documents, medications, firearms, valuables, child seats, loose personal property, and other important items before service. The business may move loose items as reasonably necessary to perform the authorized service but is not responsible for determining the value or importance of personal property left inside the vehicle. Areas obstructed by personal belongings may not be cleaned.
Child safety seats
For safety reasons, child safety seats may be left in place or removed only as necessary according to shop policy. Unless specifically agreed otherwise, the detailing business does not represent that a removed child safety seat has been correctly reinstalled or secured for use. The customer is responsible for inspecting and properly securing any child safety seat before transporting a child.
Results and limitations
I understand that detailing improves cleanliness and appearance but does not restore every surface to new condition. Results depend upon the vehicle's age, condition, materials, previous repairs or treatments, level and type of contamination, and duration of stains or damage. No specific stain-removal, odor-removal, scratch-removal, cosmetic-restoration, or like-new result is guaranteed unless expressly stated in writing on the work order.
Odor and stain treatment
Odors and stains may originate below carpets, inside seat cushions, HVAC components, insulation, body cavities, or other areas inaccessible during normal detailing. Odors may temporarily improve and later return. Standard detailing does not guarantee permanent removal of smoke, mold, mildew, pet, food, chemical, biological, or other persistent odors. Specialized mold, biohazard, severe contamination, or odor-remediation services require separate evaluation and may require separate authorization, pricing, and disclosures.
Completion and customer inspection
I agree to inspect the vehicle promptly upon completion and notify the business of any concerns regarding the detailing service as soon as reasonably possible.

Customer authorization and acknowledgment

I authorize the business and its employees or representatives to operate and move my vehicle as reasonably necessary to perform the authorized services, including moving the vehicle within or around the facility.

Any materially different or additional service requiring an additional charge will require customer authorization before being performed.

  • I have reviewed the vehicle's documented pre-existing condition, if applicable.
  • I have removed or secured valuables and important personal property.
  • I have disclosed known fragile, damaged, modified, aftermarket, repainted, wrapped, coated, or malfunctioning components that may affect the service.
  • I understand that detailing is a cleaning and cosmetic service and that complete removal of every stain, odor, scratch, defect, or contaminant cannot be guaranteed.
  • I understand the risks and limitations described above and authorize the detailing services listed on the corresponding work order.

Engine bay cleaning service agreement

Version 2026-09-17. Shown to every customer booking engine bay detailing, whether on its own or added to another job.

Vehicle condition and pre-service inspection
The condition of the engine compartment will be visually inspected and documented prior to service when reasonably practical. The customer acknowledges that the vehicle may have pre-existing conditions that are not readily visible, including deteriorated wiring, loose or damaged electrical connectors, cracked or brittle plastics, damaged seals, corroded components, fluid leaks, aftermarket wiring or accessories, and other age- or wear-related conditions.
Nature of service
Engine bay cleaning and detailing is a cosmetic cleaning service intended to remove accessible dirt, dust, grease, and residue and improve the appearance of the engine compartment. This service is not a mechanical, electrical, diagnostic, safety, leak, or structural inspection, and completion of the service does not certify the condition or reliability of the vehicle or its components.
Electrical and moisture risk
The customer understands that engine compartments contain electrical and electronic components, including wiring, connectors, sensors, ignition components, control modules, fuse and relay boxes, charging-system components, and other moisture-sensitive equipment. Reasonable precautions will be taken during cleaning; however, engine bay cleaning cannot be guaranteed to be completely risk-free. Moisture may enter or affect components, particularly when seals, connectors, wiring, covers, or components are aged, damaged, improperly installed, modified, or previously compromised.
Possible post-service symptoms
In uncommon circumstances, moisture or cleaning activity may reveal or contribute to temporary or persistent symptoms including warning lights, rough running, misfires, electrical faults, sensor faults, charging-system issues, intermittent operation, or a no-start condition. Some problems may result from previously deteriorated or compromised components that become apparent during or after cleaning.
Pre-existing and aftermarket components
The service provider is not responsible for failures caused by or attributable to pre-existing deterioration, corrosion, defective seals, damaged wiring or connectors, improperly installed components, previous repairs, aftermarket electronics, alarms, remote starters, audio equipment, performance modifications, exposed air-intake systems, or other non-original equipment.
Cleaning products and cosmetic changes
Automotive cleaning agents, degreasers, water, steam and moisture, brushes, compressed air, and/or protective dressings may be used as appropriate. Although products and procedures are selected to reduce the likelihood of damage, previously deteriorated, stained, oxidised, painted, coated, refinished, brittle, or chemically sensitive surfaces may discolor, fade, peel, stain, crack, or otherwise change appearance during cleaning.
Fluid leaks and contamination
Engine bay cleaning may remove accumulated dirt, grease, or residue that was concealing an existing oil, coolant, power-steering, fuel, or other fluid leak. The appearance of a leak after cleaning does not necessarily indicate that the cleaning service caused the leak. Significant conditions observed during service may be documented and communicated to the customer, but the service does not constitute a comprehensive leak inspection or diagnosis.
No guarantee of complete stain or contaminant removal
Certain stains, oxidation, corrosion, baked-on grease, oil residue, road salt, discoloration, and other contaminants may not be completely removable without risking damage to the underlying component or finish. The service provider may elect not to aggressively clean an area when doing so could reasonably create unnecessary risk.

Customer authorization and acknowledgment

By authorizing the engine bay cleaning service, I acknowledge that I have reviewed and understand the disclosures above. I authorize the service provider to perform the requested engine bay cleaning using reasonable professional cleaning methods and precautions. I understand that no cleaning procedure can eliminate all risks associated with pre-existing, aged, modified, deteriorated, or moisture-sensitive vehicle components.

  • I have disclosed any known electrical problems, warning lights, starting or charging issues, aftermarket electronics, exposed intake components, or other relevant conditions before service.

FLUID FILM® and WOOLWAX® corrosion-protection service agreement

Version 2026-09-20. Shown to, and authorized by, every customer booking an undercoating service.

Service authorization. I authorize the application of lanolin corrosion-protection treatment using FLUID FILM® / FLUID FILM BLACK® or WOOLWAX® to the vehicle identified above. Application follows shop standards: FLUID FILM BLACK® or WOOLWAX® is applied to the visible undercarriage and chassis for a clean, durable barrier against moisture and road salt, and FLUID FILM® untinted original formula is applied inside enclosed cavities where deep capillary reach and creep are needed.

  • Underbody treatment — Accessible frame and subframes, crossmembers, floor-pan areas, seams, wheel-well metal, exposed hardware, and other appropriate corrosion-prone undercarriage surfaces using FLUID FILM BLACK® or WOOLWAX®.
  • Underbody + cavity treatment — The above underbody treatment using FLUID FILM BLACK® or WOOLWAX®, plus internal cavity injection with FLUID FILM® original formula inside accessible frame rails, rocker panels, doors, and enclosed body cavities.

FLUID FILM® and WOOLWAX® customer acknowledgment and disclosures

I understand that this treatment is intended to help inhibit and slow corrosion caused by moisture, road salt, and environmental exposure. It is not a structural repair, rust removal or restoration process, or a guarantee that corrosion will stop or that future corrosion will not occur.

By authorizing this service, I acknowledge and understand that FLUID FILM®, FLUID FILM BLACK® and WOOLWAX® undercoating is a corrosion-protection treatment only. It is not rust removal, rust repair, structural repair, or a structural/safety inspection, and it does not restore, strengthen, or certify metal or components previously damaged by corrosion.

Pre-service inspection
Any pre-existing vehicle conditions will be identified during an inspection performed prior to service. These conditions will be documented and presented to the customer for review and authorization before any work begins.
Pre-existing conditions
The vehicle may have visible or concealed rust, weakened metal, deteriorated lines or fasteners, damaged coatings, fluid leaks, or other pre-existing conditions. Significant corrosion observed during service may be documented and reported, but the service is not a comprehensive inspection. Existing corrosion may continue to progress after treatment.
Product characteristics
FLUID FILM®, FLUID FILM BLACK® and WOOLWAX® are soft, non-drying corrosion inhibitors that may remain wet or tacky, creep or migrate, collect dirt, produce a temporary lanolin-type odor, or cause minor dripping and residue. Either may soften some existing undercoatings or affect certain non-oil-resistant rubber materials, and may make pre-existing leaks more difficult to visually identify.
Application and safety
Product is not intentionally applied to brake friction surfaces, tire tread, belts, exhaust or hot surfaces, or other components unsuitable for treatment.
No rust-free guarantee
Treatment reduces exposure to moisture and road salt but cannot prevent all future corrosion. Coverage may diminish from driving, road debris, washing, repairs, or environmental exposure. Periodic inspection, touch-up, and reapplication may be necessary.
After your service
Contact the shop promptly if unusual smoke, a strong burning odor, substantial dripping, unexpected staining, or suspected brake contamination occurs following service.

Your rights

Nothing in this acknowledgment waives any rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived under applicable Wisconsin law, or releases the shop from liability that cannot legally be disclaimed.
